The Intentional Resting workshop was a real turning point for me. That particular day I was having a lot of anxiety and I could feel the anxiety lifting during the workshop.

I fall asleep quickly now. I used to be awake for 2 to 3 hours at night. Now when I wake up I remember where I was with my Intentional Resting and fall right back to sleep. The pain from my major surgery has almost completely subsided. I have much more energy. My mood has definitely gotten better, the post surgical anxiety & depression are lifting quickly now.

I’ve learned that your brain can’t ruminate when you’re Intentionally Resting. It was kind of hard when I first started because I didn’t have the adrenaline rush I was used to running on and I realized how tired I was, but now I’m waking up much more clear-headed and ready to go, with less pain and better moods.

…I have been incorporating your technique of “resting into” stressful or worrisome circumstances in my life, and the serenity and confidence that is coming to me in these situations is wonderful.

As an actor, I am often required, on short notice, to be ready to race into an audition, having had limited time to prepare the dialogue, much less, psychologically or emotionally.  Last week, I had two major auditions, one for a film and one for a significant commercial.  I consciously prepared for them in the time I had by using your phrase: “I am resting into (this audition)”, and then using breath to do so.  I was delightfully surprised by how grounded, confident, and relaxed I was in both of these auditions, more so than I have been in a long time.

I also had an opportunity to do some filming recently for a training video.  As I was called in at the last minute by a friend working on the shoot, I again had very limited time to prepare my dialogue, and even more frantic nerves to deal with as this was “the real thing”, meaning not just an audition.  I again used your instruction, and “rested into” the experience.  After just a few moments with the script, the director had me run through the scene with the other actor, before shooting it.  Getting it spot on, he replied, “Wow, you are quick! You must be a professional.”

These techniques really work.  Most of all I am grateful for the space that they are helping to open up in me for more positive energy and results is my life! Thank you!!!

I’ve been using Intentional Resting daily. What I do is, if I notice an ache somewhere in my body, I just tell that part of my body that I’m resting for it. I let it go having a knowing that the pain will release soon. I have done this so often that I have a trust that the discomfort will shift and release and I will feel better. I love that Dan also taught that we can rest for wealth or anything that is up for us in our lives.

I have taught my family and friends this knowledge. Thank you so much Dan for sharing your genius with the world. It is a blessing in my life.

I recently took a trip to Thailand in which the sleeping conditions were horrific.   The main leg of our journey was a 13-hour flight on a very full plane with seats that barely inclined.

Using the Intentional Resting process helped me to sleep on the flight in what normally would have been impossible conditions. Thank you!!!

    I have just stumbled across this idea of ‘intentional resting’ today. I tried in and have to say, wow, I am in! Loved the relaxed state I was able to create on my own in a natural manner.

    I am already writing a list of all the areas of my life that I can rest for in my spiritual journal- starting now! I hope this grows in popularity and quickly reaches everyone, as so many of us need this blessing in our lives.

    I use intentional resting for the lungs.
    It all started on April 11, 2010 in Salt Lake City.
    I quit smoking ciggies on that day after a speech from Dan Howard and his intentional resting exercise and feeling the REST I so badly needed. I found I could use this method when I desired a ciggie.
    It is still with me today, except I use intentional resting for all parts of the body. I am thankful to the Holy Spirit for leading me to his workshop at the Lotus. I am now in Alabama.
